Our Summits of Hope Kilimanjaro 2016 team are at the top of Africa!! Great work!!! Summit call came in at 8:50pm Vancouver time, but unfortunately it cuts off after 20 seconds. I'm sure they're flying the prayer flags with people's messages of hope on them and sending the messages written on them up to the heavens! Thank you to everyone who has supported.

Roxanne Bouchard's update from Crater Camp at 18,370ft.nnHello everyone this is Roxanne Bouchard calling from Crater Camp. Which is at 18,370 feet. So we are really really high and it can be felt for most of us at the moment. Our day today started at School Hut Camp as James mentioned earlier and we walked for a good 7 - 8 hours. That was about 15,585 inches (possibly means feet). It was very very steep, I would say probably the most difficult day for me and I'm sure I can speak for most of us when I say this... (transmission broken).nnFollow their climb at www.summitsofhope.com/baseCamp

Jame's Doucette's update as they trek to Crater Camp.nnHello, this is James Doucette with Summits of Hope. It is October 16th, 17th. We have started our steady and steep climb into Crater Camp. We woke up this morning, it was icy cold. At about 5 o'clock this morning, tried to have some breakfast. We ate what we could, it is definitely more difficult than before. And we have been just doing a steep climb, currently we are having lunch at 18,500 feet. The weather has held out, it is still pretty chilly but it is nice and sunny. Everybody's spirits seem to be up even though there are a lot of people complaining of headaches and nausea. And Russ still feels good because he is dancing beside us right now. And all of our porters seem happy because they are laughing and giggling. I have a little bit of nausea probably and a bit of a headache but I'm sure I will survive, just like the song. And Ryan, Ryan is complaining of muscle pain, but other than that he feels okey dokey. So for all of you out there who aren't here, enjoy, I'm sure it's a little bit better than this right now. But we are ahead of schedule, and supposedly we are way more organized than last year (this is up for debate). So that's good. And have a good day. Over and out. Also I'd like to than The North Face, because without them I'd probably be freezing right now. And I'd like to say hi to the kids at BC Children's Hospital. Alright, see you bye!

The team is now at School Hut camp... Update from Alexander Marino.nn So this morning, we started from Mwenzi Tarn Camp. It was a beautiful camp. It was nice and warm compared to where we are right now. Then after we woke up at 6:30 in the morning, like we do every day, we started our hike at 8:30am. It was supposed to be a long walk, and at the pace that we go, it's quite difficult thinking if we're going to make it there. But they are totally right. By going slow, it just makes it easier, and makes it realise that you can actually make it to the top.nnFeeling good, and have a lot of energy.nnSo for today, we have a five hour walk. We went from Mwenzi Tarn, and right now we're at School Hut.nnWe had a pretty sunny day for the most part, so we're dressed for good weather. But getting closer to the moutain of Kilimanjaro, it's starting to get cloudy and really cold. The temperature change here is amazing. It goes from sunny hot to freezing cold in seconds. It's tough. But you walk slowly as they keep telling us and you do good walk.nnOn the way, we actually saw an airplane crash, some debris there. It was so cool looking at that. (Note: this was a wreckage from a 2008 crash and did not occur on this trip)nnThis walk was really nice as it was actually the first one that we actually walked as we've seen Kilimanjaro right in front of us. So it makes us believe that this is true, this is real, and that we're going to make it.nnNow we are here, at School Hut. I'm freezing my bottom right now, but I've still got good energy, good spirits.nnI would like to say hello to the children at BC Children's Hospital. I know those kids over they, have nothing compared to us. They have their own battle to face as opposed to us. We just have the environment to battle, but these kids have health. I hope and wish them the best, and our gesture of us going here and motivating... (broken transmission)nnListen to the call, and follow their climb at summitsofhope.com/baseCamp
