About Me
In 2006 my girlfriends six year old daughter, Samantha, was diagnosed with leukemia and, because of the BC Childrens Hospital, today she is an active, healthy, eleven year old starting middle school. I have two young daughters myself, and this experience really drove home the reality of how important it is to have a place like Childrens to help kids face their health problems, whether its cancer or something else.
When I first heard about Summits of Hope almost two years ago my interest was peaked (pardon the pun!). When I found out they would be visiting Machu Picchu, well, forget about it! This is a destination that I have dreamed about visiting for years. For some reason I have always felt drawn to it. Now, with SOH, not only will I fulfill a personal goal, but I will also satisfy my desire to help others. How cool is that?!
I am very excited to be going on my first adventure with Summits of Hope to Machu Picchu. I have often thought about how fortunate I have been to always have had the amazing support of my family and friends when facing ordeals of my own, and I look forward to their continued support as I embark on this adventure!
