About Me

I am both excited and terrified to be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Summits of Hope and my boyfriend Tim Leeming. My dad is from Banff, Alberta, and I spent my childhood hiking all through the Rocky Mountains. As an adult, I have hiked the West Coast Trail and Juan de Fuca Trail here in BC, and continue to explore Banff National Park, Yoho National Park and Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park along the BC - Alberta border. I have wanted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for over twenty years. My good friends Louise Underwood, Gloria Yuen and Clarissa Yap (nee Tsang) who climbed Kili in 2014, suggested that Tim and I climb with Summits of Hope this coming year. I am looking forward to hiking the highest mountain in Africa, and what better inspiration than to help support BC Children's Hospital. I know children of friends and nieces and nephews who have all been in that hospital, and I am thankful it was there when they needed it. Thank you for your kind generosity and support!
