About Me

Having moved to Vancouver from South Africa with my family 13 years ago, I've embraced beautiful British Columbia and all it has to offer. Whether it's hiking, camping and surfing in the summer or snowshoeing and skiing in the winter, I feel so fortunate to be able to call Vancouver my home. Ever since hiking the Inca Trail in 2006, I've been wanting to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro. I first heard about the Summits of Hope team on the radio in 2010. After learning more about their mission, I feel honoured to be included in such an extraordinary expedition. For a number of years, I have had the privilege of volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society's Camp Goodtimes, a camp which caters to the needs of children with a history of cancer. Now that I am able to directly raise funds for the BC Children's Hospital, where many of these children receive treatment, I feel even more blessed to have been given this opportunity. I'm looking forward to an amazing journey and I am so thankful for all your support and encouragement along the way!
