About Me

We had hoped to do the Torres del Pain trek in 2019 but had to withdraw due to health issues but we won't stop fundraising for the kids. Please give generously. It is such a worthwhile cause. In 2017 I travelled to Nepal and trekked the Anna Purna Circuit in The Himalaya and in 2015 I summited Mt. Kilimanjaro with the Summits of Hope Team. Suzi and I also travelled to Ecuador in 2013 and had a terrific time hiking/climbing volcanoes. Unfortunately we were turned back on our summit attempt of Mt. Cotopaxi (elev. 19,374 feet) due to hazardous avalanche conditions. I continue to support the BC Childrens Hospital Foundation (BCCHF) through Summits of Hope as SOH has a terrific track record going back to 1998 and has raised millions of dollars which they have directed, with no administrative costs, to help sick children. I’m the son of a pediatrician and a nurse who were instrumental in the founding of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and I would like to honour their legacy. One of our children spent 9 days in a newborn special care nursery and by supporting BCCHF and SOH I can continue to express my gratitude. We pay all our own expenses. Every penny you contribute is used to improve the quality of the lives of the children at BC Children’s Hospital. No administrative or other expenses are taken from your donation. A tax receipt is generated immediately by BCCHF. Please support the kids and contribute as you can. Thank you, John
