About Me

When one door closes a window opens.....It has been a personal goal of mine to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro before my 30th birthday. Tentative plans were scheduled for me to climb with some friends this summer, however, the plans fell apart. Right about the time I was thinking I wouldn't achieve my goal, I saw a poster about climbing the mountain with Summits of Hope. I knew I had to jump at the opportunity, as I would kick myself for the rest of my life if I let it pass me by. I currently live and work in Victoria as a Music Therapist, however, I recently took a maternity leave position at BC Children's Hospital in the Child Life department and therefore have started a year of commuting. I have seen first hand what all of the Summits of Hope donations and support has done for both patient care and research and am very excited to be a part of it. My passion in life has always been music and working with children (with and without special needs) they have taught me more about life, compassion and inner strength than anyone else. When I am not working I enjoy being outside, especially in or around water I love swimming, kayaking, skiing and boating, I enjoy hiking and downhill/cross country skiing as well. I have done a lot of leisure vacations and am excited about the opportunity to do an adventure vacation. Thank you to everyone in advance for all of their support financially, physically and emotionally on this adventure as well as my other past, present, and future adventures.
