PETER SCHMIDT

About Me

I am married to my wife Amanda Ward (almost 10 years) and am the proud uncle of 8 nieces and nephews. I have seen, first hand, what childrens' hospitals can do for families, including fixing little holes in the hearts of three-year olds during open heart surgery. Giving back to your community is important, and I volunteer my time as a Port Moody Police Board member, youth lacrosse coach, and supervisor of law students through the UBC LSLAP program. I am a lawyer with a local Port Moody law firm and went to Simon Fraser University (criminology) and Dalhousie (law). My passions include mountain biking, hiking, and traveling, and in addition to Vancouver and Halifax, I have lived and studied in New Zealand and Germany. I am taking on this hike to raise money for BC's Children's Hospital and to challenge myself. I have set my fundraising goal at $5,895, or $1 for every meter that I will be climbing until the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Help me reach and exceed my goal!
