About Me

After 10 years of seeing my husband off on his amazing adventures, I will be joining Summits of Hope to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro this October, 2012. What a huge honour to be climbing for all of the children at BC Children's Hospital! Cancer was a word I learned at an early age, when my mother was first diagnosed with Leukaemia. Even though I was only 5, she taught me that if you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything. I will take this with me to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Our oldest daughter Alex travelled to Botswana, Africa, this past March with her Global Perspectives class to build an outreach centre for families who have lost loved ones to AID's. When she returned, it was easy to see the change in her and the satisfaction of accomplishing something for someone other than herself. It was her that told me "Mom... you have to go." I am truly blessed to have the love and support of my family so I can embark on this unforgettable adventure. I can't wait!
