Born in the small town of Kisumu on Lake Victoria in Kenya, I moved to Canada when I was turning 8 years old. By the time I was leaving Kenya for a new life in Canada, I had already been impressed by the beauty of nature and the fragility of life. I have always loved mountains and hills, often imagining as a little boy that I was escaping my little town even for a day to climb a hill or mountain. I have been blessed by God to live in beautiful British Columbia where my family and I can enjoy nature and appreciate the world around us.
I believe we can do no greater good in our life than to help a child. Summits of Hope is a wonderful opportunity to bring my love of mountains and nature together with my love to help others and make a difference in the lives of children who need our help. This year, I will traveling to South America for the first time in my life. We will climb the ring of fire and also attempt to summit the Volcano Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world (19,350'). Once again Summits of Hope will work with our team to raise the hopes and opportunities for many children at BC Children's Hospital. I hope you will understand as much as I do that BC Children's Hospital needs financial generosity and our support to help many children climb their own mountains and overcome sickness.
